What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon Hydrotherapy, also known as Colonics, involves using warm, purified water to flush out waste, gas, and toxins from your colon. Your colon, which can be about as tall as you are, does more than just store waste. It's responsible for absorbing nutrients, producing the "happy hormone" serotonin, and even making the "sleep hormone" melatonin. It's also where about 80% of your immune system hangs out, along with your good gut bacteria (microbiome) – all vital for your overall health. So, keeping this system running smoothly is a big win for your well-being.

How does it work?
At Wellness Colonics, I offer a "Closed System" treatment, and I'm a certified Colon Hydrotherapist. I use disposable, TGA-approved speculum packs for each of my clients.
During your session, I gently insert a speculum into your rectum, and filtered water circulates through your colon for about 40 minutes. This process softens and clears blockages, helping your body eliminate toxins, gas, fecal matter, parasites, and mucoid plaque.
Colon Hydrotherapy is fantastic for strengthening your colon muscles and improving waste removal. During the session, I gently massage the tummy to assist waste removal.

Colonics are typically not painful. Your first session may be slightly uncomfortable due to the release of toxins, but any discomfort, like nausea or mild cramping, is temporary and dissipates as the body eliminates toxins. After the session, you'll likely feel refreshed and lighter.
-
Your appointment duration is 1 hour, but the time you'll spend on the table is 40 minutes.
-
The frequency of sessions depends on your specific needs and goals. We usually start with a series of 4 close sessions for optimal results and then provide personalised recommendations. Some clients choose weekly or fortnightly sessions, while others prefer monthly or quarterly sessions. There's no one-size-fits-all approach.
-
Nope. There's no downtime! Following your initial treatment, you may experience some fatigue as toxins are eliminated, although many individuals describe a greater sense of calm, better sleep, digestion, energy and a feeling of lightness within their body!

Getting ready for your first colonic is easy, and we're here to help you feel comfortable. Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of your session.
Stay Hydrated: Drink lots of water before your session. It makes things easier for your body to release waste and toxins.
Skip a Meal: If possible, avoid eating for at least 2 hours before your appointment. This gives your body a break from digesting during the treatment.
Relax: Choose a time when you can be fully relaxed; there's no rush. The more relaxed you are, the better your body can release toxins. Your session is private and well-cared for.
Comfy Clothes: Wear something you can take off from the waist down. Don't worry, we'll cover you with a towel during the treatment.
Open Mind: Keep an open mind and focus on the fantastic health benefits of colonics. Don't worry about the speculum; it's just a unique sensation. Enjoy all the health perks of the experience!
